Laboratory’s Description

The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS) is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to support cutting-edge research, innovation, and practical learning in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Big Data Analytics. The department boasts specialized laboratories, each designed to cater to the diverse needs of students and researchers. With 300+ high-performance computer systems dedicated to the department, students have access to the latest hardware and software configurations to facilitate their academic and research pursuits. All laboratories are air-conditioned, providing a conducive environment for learning and productivity. The department’s network infrastructure is robust, with all computers connected to a Gigabit network, which is further linked to the institute’s 10 Gigabit optical fiber network. High-speed internet and centralized power backup ensure uninterrupted learning and research activities.

First Year Computer Lab

First Year Computer Lab (Location ABS1), a practical infrastructure facility, is designed for the first-year students. Primary goal of this facility is to “make aware the fresh students of engineering, about the basics of computer programming languages like C and C++”. In addition to this, it also incorporates the capabilities to provide the various practical tools, which can be used to deliver bridge courses. Said facility comprises purposeful computing machines and other required electrical equipment to serve the objectives.

AI & Machine Learning Lab

This lab is equipped with high-performance systems featuring Intel i7 processors, 16GB RAM, and NVIDIA GPUs to support computationally intensive tasks. The lab is designed to facilitate hands-on experience in AI and ML algorithms, including deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Scikit-learn are installed to enable students to build and deploy AI models. The lab also provides access to cloud-based AI platforms like Google Colab and AWS SageMaker.

Data Science & Analytics Lab

The Data Science Lab is equipped with systems configured with Intel i5 processors, 8GB RAM, and 1TB storage to handle large datasets. The lab focuses on data preprocessing, visualization, and analysis using tools like Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, and Jupyter Notebooks. Students work on real-world datasets to gain expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision-making.

Big Data & Cloud Computing Lab

This lab is designed to provide hands-on experience in big data technologies and cloud computing platforms. It is equipped with systems running Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka for distributed data processing. Students also gain exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud for deploying scalable AI and data science solutions.

Computer Vision & Image Processing Lab

  This lab is equipped with systems featuring NVIDIA GPUs to support image and video processing tasks. Tools like OpenCV, MATLAB are installed for object detection, image segmentation, and video analytics. Students work on projects related to facial recognition, autonomous vehicles, and medical imaging.
