At Sankalchand Patel University, with the support of the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) and the Government of Gujarat, a two-day international conference was held on May 24-25, 2024. The conference was organized by Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering to deliberate on various dimensions of sustainable development and the roadmap for a developed India@2047 through a multidisciplinary approach to engineering, technology, and management. On the first day of the conference, the inauguration ceremony took place in the esteemed presence of Shri Chandubhai Patel, Vice Chairman of Nutan Kelavani Mandal; Dr. P. M. Udani, Provost of the University; Dr. H. N. Shah, Technical Director; and Dr. P. J. Patel, Principal of the Engineering College. Distinguished guests and participating researchers from prestigious institutions across various states of the country attended the event. In his inaugural address, Dr. P. M. Udani, Provost of the University, enlightened the attendees about the current challenges and emphasized the importance of conducting more research to achieve the vision of a developed India@2047. The conference featured international speakers from industry and academia, including Dr. Subrahmanyam Murla, Associate Professor at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland; Prof. Georgio Giasinto, Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy; Dr. Ajay Sidpara, Associate Professor at IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Rajiv Mishra, Associate Professor at Delhi Technological University; Dr. T. P. Sharma, Associate Professor at NIT Hamirpur; Dr. Naran Pindoriya from IIT Gandhinagar; Dr. Rama Mundra, Dean at Adani Institute of Digital Technology Management, Ahmedabad; Dr. M. K. Baruya, Director of IITRAM, Ahmedabad; Dr. Pragnesh Bhatt, Associate Professor at PDEU, Gandhinagar, among others. They attended both online and offline, sharing insights about future dimensions through their research. Additionally, Dr. Paurav Shukla, Professor at Southampton Business School, UK, and Cleopatra Veloutsou, Professor of Brand Management at the University of Glasgow, UK, joined via online video. Over 180 researchers from various states participated in the two-day conference, presenting their research papers on subjects including civil, mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, management, and computer science. On the first day, visiting guests from other states toured the ancient city of Vadnagar and enjoyed a grand cultural program in the evening. On the second day, Shri Hetal Shah, Managing Director of Nutec Infotech Private Limited, addressed the gathering, providing insights into current technology and emphasizing self-reliance and the adoption of Indian brands for indigenization. At the closing ceremony, the best research paper was awarded by the distinguished guests from among all the presented research papers. Furthermore, to promote academic cooperation and enhance industrial exposure for students, Sankalchand Patel University signed MOUs with over 12 renowned companies during the two-day event, aiming to bridge the gap between academia and industry needs. At the end of the two days, the university’s President, Shri Prakashbhai Patel; Provost, Dr. P. M. Udani; Technical Director, Dr. H. N. Shah; and Principal of the Engineering College, Dr. P. J. Patel, congratulated the entire university and engineering college staff for making the conference a success.
