About GATE

What is GATE 2027?

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted jointly by IISc and the IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

A valid GATE score can be used for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes in eligible institutions. Several organisations also use GATE scores for recruitment.

Important: Qualifying GATE does not by itself guarantee admission, scholarship or employment. Students must satisfy the eligibility and selection requirements of the respective institute or organisation.
