OVERVIEW
The rapid growth of Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Industry 4.0 is transforming sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics. In India, initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat highlight the need for a skilled workforce in advanced technologies.
To address this, Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), Visnagar proposes establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Robotics and Automation as a multidisciplinary hub for education, research, and innovation. The CoE will enhance teaching through hands-on labs, simulation tools, and real-time industrial systems, enabling students to gain practical skills in robotics, PLC–SCADA, machine vision, and smart manufacturing.
Aligned with NEP 2020, it will promote experiential and outcome-based learning. The Centre will also support applied research, industry collaboration, product development, and innovation. It will foster startups, incubation, and commercialization of ideas.
Primarily supporting B.Tech Mechanical (Robotics & Automation), the CoE will also offer interdisciplinary certification programs. Additionally, it will serve as a regional hub for training, FDPs, workshops, and industry partnerships.
Overall, the CoE aims to bridge the academia–industry gap, boost employability, encourage innovation, and contribute to regional and national development.
