ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The main objective of the department is to educate and transform students into practical and efficient engineers that are matching the real-life needs of software industry in the field of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. Department has qualified and skilled faculty members to provide quality teaching and prepare the students in research-oriented activities on various technical concepts. 

 Various laboratories are established which have the requisite equipment and complete infrastructure facilities for performing practical effectively of different courses. Each laboratory is used by students with careful guidance from instructors and faculties. 

In the era of globalization and liberalization, Indian industries have to compete for multinationals in terms of qualities, cost, and productivity. To meet the ever-increasing needs of highly qualified and talented manpower by advanced technologies, the institute proposes to start Graduate level program in the field of “Artificial Intelligence & Data Science”. This program will give a good opportunity for the students to learn the latest technological developments in core areas of knowledge representation, reasoning, learning, planning, decision-making, vision, robotics, speech and language processing including implementation of technology as well as to undertake R & D work.

 Department is  focusing  on grooming the students in the different technical areas as per the syllabus and curriculum, set by the concerned university and extensively expose students to live industry coverage. We shall ensure the multidimensional development of the students to sail their ship in a professional career by boosting their potential and capabilities. We will also focus on ensuring that students get suitable placement in their respective fields.

In recent years, AI and Data Science have gathered momentum in India. In terms of talent, companies that employ machine learning and subject matter experts who write about Data Science and AI, India is one of the top 15 countries across the world.

The relatively cheaper cost of operations and high availability of tech talent makes India a popular choice for tech giants to set up shop here. Several billion-dollar IT companies and global software product corporations have their R&D base in India.

Even the venture capital-backed domains are focused on AI and Data Science, leading to a growing demand for Data Science professionals in the country. Recently, it was announced that India will soon become the first nation to use AI for its tax assessment process. Many other sectors in India are fast adopting the ML trend to improve efficiency. India’s insurance industry is one of these as it continues to invest in AI, Data Science, ML, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The banking and financial services BFSI sector is the biggest market for analytics, ML and data science jobs.

The Digital India initiative has encouraged many tech startups to lead the effort with innovative ideas. As an example, machine learning and AI are being used to indicate adulteration in food or non-invasive detection of skin conditions in a span of minutes. In fact, there are more than 200 AI-based startups in India.

AI is going to permeate every job sector in the future. It can create new career paths in the field of Data Science, Machine learning, Data mining, and analysis, AI software development, program management, and testing. The demand for AI certified professionals will grow along with the developments in AI.
